Our pastor

Rev. Mark E. Mitchell, Sr. was born in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Marlyn and Myrtle Mitchell. He is the youngest of four children. He was born to a Godly close-knit family in which his parents taught him early to love family deeply and love God even more. His ever constant and abiding faith in Jesus Christ has been the cornerstone of his life.

Rev. Mitchel is a product of the Wilmer-Hutchins Independent School District and Southern Bible Institute.  He is employed by Tamko Building Products.

He accepted his calling 17 years ago under the leadership of his father, Pastor Marlyn Mitchell. He was ordained and received his ministers license from the Potters House in Dallas, Tx. Before coming to the pastorate, he worked diligently with the Children's Church, Youth Ministry, Prison Ministry, Outreach Ministry and Street Evangelism. He served as Scout Master and Football Coach with Boys Scout of America, Inc. where he provided youth training in character, citizenship, mental and personal fitness. Although he no longer serves as a Scout Master and Coach, he still provides direction, coaching and support to young men.

Rev. Mitchell was officially installed as New St. Mark's 2nd Pastor on April 27, 2014.

Rev. Mitchell is the proud father of 9 children and 8 grandchildren.

Our Pastor is ever vigilant over the flock here at New St. Mark.  He is mature in the faith and well equipped for the task God has set before him. He is an independent scholar, a fervent student of the Bible and a faithful believer in Jesus Christ.
